Birth of sage Aurva and his wrath on Kshatriyas
This post is about Sage Aurva conquering his wrath that was once incurred on the Kshatriyas. The powerful Ascetic had made the Kshatriyas blind with his Ascetic power. Sage Vashistha had given an instance of such an extremely good story of Aurva to his grandson Sage Parashara to pacify his anger seeing that Parashara had decided to ruin the world after knowing about his father Shakti's demise by a demon. Now let me take you to the story.
Once there was a King named Kritavirya who was a liege lord to the Bhargava Brahmins. After performing Soma Yajna, King used to offer loads of wealth to please these Brahmins. After the death of the king, his descendants with the intention to fulfil their material needs went to those Brahmins as solicitors. Some Brahmins provided wealth as per the Kshatriyas' necessities and some out of fear. A few of the Bhargavas humiliated these Kshatriyas and a few also hid their wealth belowground. However, all the Kshatriyas became conscious of those buried treasures and slaughtered many Brahmins with their arrows. They even humiliated as well as killed those who had already surrendered to the Kshatriyas and didn't spare the babies too.

That very moment a superb child came out of that Brahmin wife's thigh and made all these Kshatriyas blind through his radiance. After losing their eyes, Kshatriyas pleaded near that stunning Brahmin spouse to give them their eyes back. However, that Brahmin wife mentioned to them that, it was remarkable Aurva who had taken their eyes sights from them through the Ascetic power that he had learned whilst staying inside the womb. Aurva had carried out that act to avenge the death of the Bhargava Brahmins. She asked Kshatriyas to request Aurva to furnish them with vision like before. Kshatriyas did it consequently and acquired back their sights. Since Aurva was born from Auru or thigh he was named as so.
Later Aurva being respectful towards his deceased ancestors
was determined to take revenge on the Kshatriyas, as a result, practised inflexible penance, improved his asceticism, and disturbed many deities, demons, and people
with his power. His ancestors appeared in front of him and stopped him from the destruction of Kshatriyas and different lokas by way of announcing that, they
were incapable to confront these Kshatriyas at that time and that they were
additionally waiting for their death too. Moreover, they referred to Aurva that,
there used to be no need for a Brahmin to hide wealth beneath the ground as Kubera
himself had presented him plenty of wealth earlier, hence they preferred annoying Kshatriyas in
such a way so that all these old Bhargavas could be dead by the hands of Kshatriyas and attain Heaven.
Aurva answered them that, he could never take back his promise of destroying the lokas as his rage of him could damage Aurva himself if failed to fulfil its purpose. He moreover cited that he used to hear the mourning of his mother upon the death of Bhargava's relatives and the children. Aurva was certain about his choice of punishing these sinners. He knew he was capable to stop these evil people and burning them into ashes via his tremendous asceticism power.
Ancestors then asked Aurva to leave his fierce furnace made out of rage inside the ocean water. They suggested Aurva do it for his very own good as the complete universe is established inside the water as well as developed from it. They also stated Aurva by leaving his Krodhagni or fire of anger inside the ocean, his oath would be fulfilled and no one would be harmed via such wrath. Aurva acted according to his ancestors and kept his promise also.
It is stated that the hearth of anger still engulfs the ocean water taking the structure of a horse's face. That Badawa spits fire whilst drinking the whole ocean water.
After listening to the story of sage Aurva from Grandfather Vashistha, angry sage Parashara changed his mind to ruin all lokas. However, in order to make his commitment successful he carried out yajna to destroy the demons and later stopped it after hearing from magnificent sage Pulastya about the pious acts of all the Brahmins of being sympathetic towards all the creatures including demons too, and after getting confirmed about his father Shakti's harmonious staying in heaven.
