DHRISHTADYUMNA AND DRAUPADI BORN OUT OF YAJNA FIRE

Drupada creates  Dhrishtadyumna and Draupadi from Yajna Fire

Arjuna as asked by his Guru Dronacharya Defeated Panchala king Drupada and handed him over to his guru Gurudhakshina. Drona took away half of the kingdom. Enraged Drupada in order to take vengeance on Drona, desired to have mighty children of his. One day when he was roaming around Ganga, he reached a colony where he looked for a celibate Ascetic. He determined two enlightened sages named Yaja and Upayaja.

They had been great Ascetics of Kashyapa Gotras. King went to the younger Upayaja first and worshipped him. Drupada asked him to help him in getting a mighty son by performing a yajna who would later kill Drona. In return, he promised to provide ten crore cows to the sage along with different favoured things. Upayaja denied his offer at that time. King, to please him, served him dedicatedly for one year. After that Upayaja told him to find his elder brother Yaja who ought to help him in such yajna. Upayaja cited, "One day I had seen my brother Yaja ingesting fruits that had been dropped on the floor. Yaja never regarded the purity of the fruit at that time. He solely wished to devour it." Hence wondering about such a scenario of his greedy brother, Upayaja asked Drupada to locate Yaja who could help him in such a yajna.

Drupada went to Yaja, worshipped him, and provided him eighty thousand cows to operate the yajna. Drupada knew Drona was a disciple of the magnificent Parashurama. He had also turned out to be the Acharya of mighty Kshatriyas. To kill him, Drupada wished for a disastrous son. Again he presented ten crore cows to Yaja. He was convinced. King organized all the required things for the yajna and they started the yajna.

The king at that time called his wife there and asked to receive Havisha cooked by Yaja there. But She had not taken a bath at that time so she couldn't take it. Yaja was certain of the fulfilment of the King's wishes. So he put the havish into the yajna fire and a fierce son was born out of it. He was carrying a shield on his body, the crown on his head, and was keeping a bow and arrows. He was born to kill Drona and to take away the sufferings of the king. Later He was named Dhrishtadyumna.

After that, a girl was born out of the Yajna Vedi. She was named Panchali. She was attractive and had curly hair. Her skin was dusky and her eye seemed like flowers. Her body was scented like lotus and it was spreading everywhere. She resembled the goddess Durga. The celestial announcement was made that, her name was Krishna. She was born to kill all Kshatriyas.

It is also noted in the book That time Drupada came to know from a Brahmin that Duryodhana and other Kauravas had sent all the Pandavas to Varnavrat strategically. Where Duryodhana had set a death trap for Pandavas. He made Purochana construct a Lakshagriha; a house made of lacquer the place Pandavas stayed along with their mother Kunti. Then Purochana set fire to the residence and burnt all of them there.

Hearing about the death of the Pandavas, Drupada was devastated. As per Drupada's desire his son, Dhrishtadyumna had to kill Drona and his daughter Krishna had to marry the outstanding Kshatriya warrior Arjuna.

Seeing distressed King Drupada, Yaja consoled him that such exquisite Pandavas would in no way die like this. Also requested the king to prepare a swayamvara of his daughter Krishna or Draupadi. He knew that Pandavas after hearing this would honestly visit Panchal.

I have gone through the tales where Pandavas had gone to the swayamvara of Draupadi where she had to choose Courageous Arjuna as her husband but she later was divided amongst all the brothers as alms by Kunti.
