OMINOUS SIGNS AFTER BIRTH OF DURYODHANA

Gandhari gives birth to a hundred sons and a daughter named Duhsala

In Hastinapur Pandu married Kunti; daughter of Shurasena and Dhritarashtra to Gandhari; daughter of Gandhara king. One day being exhausted and hungry Vyasa came to Dhritarashtra's palace. Gandhari welcomed him out of hospitality and arranged for his food and shelter. Pleased by means of her behaviour, Vyasa asked her for a boon. She wished for a hundred sons just like her husband. Vyasa granted and left.

She got pregnant but even after carrying the womb for two years she never had any labour. She heard Kunti had given birth to Yudhishthira at that time. Without knowledge of Dhritarashtra, she hit her belly hard, and abruptly a lump of flesh fell on the earth. It seemed like a hard iron lump. She decided to throw it away.

Hearing this Vyasa speedily reached there and asked her about it. Gandhari informed him she hit it as Kunti became a mother earlier than her. She also noted that she was blessed by him to give birth to one hundred sons but a lump of flesh came out instead. So she decided to dispose of it.

As a solution, Vyasa told her to prepare a kund filled up with ghee. Then cold water was sprinkled all over the lump of flesh which made it smash into a hundred small pieces. Gandhari was asked to maintain them safely in separate kunds For two years. After completing the exact time Gandhari opened all of them. Duryodhana was born first. He started out crying just like a braying donkey. Hearing Duryodhana crying in such, all his other brothers began crying. Strong winds started blowing. Very bad weather made the environment terrifying. Frightened Dhritarashtra called all the Brahmins and politely asked about his elder son's Future in Hastinapur.

Seeing the horrific lucks, all the Brahmins suggested he leave his elder son Duryodhana as they could apprehend he was born to destroy their people and generations.

They suggested the proper aspect to do however Dritarastra didn't pay attention to them at that time. He kept him along with his other sons.

Gandhari had a daughter named Duhsala. She was born apart from her hundred brothers. When Vyasa separated the lump of flesh and kept it in the ghee kund, Gandhari expressed her wish of having a small girl child by which Dhritarashtra could get the purity of Dauhitra. According to her wish, Vyasa kept a small piece of the flesh in another ghee Kund, and Duhsala was born out of it after a month. Dhritarashtra had a son named Yuyutsu from his maid named Sughada. He was younger than Duryodhana.

Moreover, In the book, it is also mentioned that Kali was born as Duryodhana.
