DRAUPADI RESCUED PANDAVAS FROM SLAVERY AFTER DYUTKRIDA

Dyutkrida reasons and consequences Draupadi releases Pandavas from their slavery

We all recognize this story however we will discover some greater to it in detail. How did the dyutkrida or gambling start, why Draupadi was chosen as a bet, how did the gambling end, and how did Draupadi save their husbands from being servants? Also, why does the game occur twice?

Yudhishthira had already performed the Rajasuya yajna in Indraprastha. He respectfully asked Vyasa whether the violence was put to an end after the death of Shishupala or not. Vyasa mentioned to him that the disaster that happened there in the sabha would provide an outcome that would linger for thirteen years. It would destroy all the Kshatriyas. After making Yudhishthira the cause, all their brothers would fight with each other and it would start with a mistake of Duryodhana and would end with Arjuna and Bhima's courage. Yudhishthira got disturbed by such a prediction made by Vyasa and to maintain harmony among their brothers he made a promise that he would never make any partiality to his Kaurava brothers, and would always be obliged to them and fulfil their wishes.

Since Kauravas were too invited along with different kings in the yajna. Shakuni and Duryodhana had been additionally present there. After the completion of yajna, they roam all around the Indraprastha and discovered its beauty. One day Duryodhana was once wandering inside the palace and noticed a location that seemed wet, assuming it to be full of water he raised his garments above but found the location to be dry. He went to any other vicinity that appeared dry but was constructed with water crammed in there. He fell into the water making all his garments wet. Seeing him in such a situation, Bhima, Arjuna, Nakula, and Sahadeva along with his servants began laughing. Duryodhana was embarrassed at that time. Then in another place, he hit his head on a closed door that appeared to be open there. Even he tried to push another door which was already opened but appeared closed. He felt humiliated and was jealous of the palace Indraprastha which was constructed with the aid of Viswakarma in such a special way. Duryodhana even could not endure the achievements of Pandavas and left for Hastinapur. Insecure Duryodhana discussed with his uncle Shakuni regarding taking revenge for his humiliation and defeating Pandavas by way of taking the assistance of Bhishma, Dronacharya, and all his Kaurava brothers. Shakuni advised him it was not possible to defeat them as Lord Krishna had usually been with Pandavas. Also referred to him that even deities could not defeat all the Pandavas. He recommended Duryodhana invite the Pandavas to Dyutkrida which would effortlessly defeat Yudhishthira. Shakuni used to be a master of gambling, he knew Yudhishthira would in no way decline taking part in such as he used to be fond of Dyutkrida. Duryodhana then convinced his father to invite the Pandavas. He had constructed a sabha Bhawan in Hastinapur.

Dhritarashtra sent Vidura to invite the Pandavas to his kingdom. Vidura did so and noted to Yudhishthira that the tremendous gambler Shakuni would be there too. Since Yudhishthira could by no means deny Dhritarashtra's advice, he agreed to play. All the Pandavas reached Hastinapur and offered their prayers to the elders. Yudhishthira asked Shakuni, "Why do you admire gambling because we are Kshatriyas, playing is not the way to exhibit our heroism, and additionally, the game does not have certain rules."

However, Shakuni persuaded him by considering gambling was also one way to win against those who knew less about it. Shakuni asked Yudhishthira to step back if he would feel that was not right But Yudhishthira continued. One by one Yudhishthira lost all his jewels, gold, money, chariots, slaves, servants, elephants, horses, cows, bulls, goats, lands, capitals, and ornaments to Gandhara Naresh Shakuni. Vidura tried to warn Dhritarashtra and Duryodhana but they never listened. Yudhishthira then put all his brothers at stake in gambling and again lost to them. After losing everyone he put himself and lost out to Kauravas. Then he had nothing left for gambling. So Shakuni asked Yudhishthira to involve Draupadi there. Yudhishthira followed his order and even lost his wife to them.

Vidura again alerted Duryodhana at that time. Dhritarashtra was thrilled to discover his sons triumphing over Pandavas. Duryodhana sent his servant to bring Draupadi there. Draupadi was in her period at that time. The servant went to her and informed her that Yudhishthira had lost her to the Kauravas in gambling. Duryodhana wished to see her in the Sabha Bhawan. She sent him back with a query for Yudhishthira, she desired to be aware of whether or not he had lost himself before her or not. The servant came back and asked that query Yudhishthira. Being Thoughtless Yudhishthira ought to no longer reply to him anything at that time. Duryodhana once more sent him to bring Draupadi there. But Draupadi did not come out and wished justice from Yudhishthira. Duryodhana sent his brother Dushasana to fetch her. Angry Dushasana entered her palace and dragged her via the hair to the assembly. He instructed her to serve Kauravas as they had won her the game. She was forcefully dragged outside by Dushasana. He humiliated her in front of all by calling her their slave and started taking off her sole saree that she was wearing at that time. She requested Help from the elders. Bhishma grievously advised her, "Yudhishthira is pious and sensitive and has taken the choice of gambling his spouse alongside with others and lost it. Hence I am unable to do anything."

Bhima out of anger questioned Yudhishthira about how could he gamble Draupadi. He had no trouble with Yudhishthira putting all his brothers at risk. Outraged Bhima blamed him for Draupadi's pathetic scenario and wished to burn his hands. Arjuna pacified him at that time. Bikarna, one of the Kaurava brothers raised his voice towards such dishonorable moves of his brothers. Karna stopped him by means of citing that, "Draupadi belongs to Shakuni and Duryodhana as they gained her in gambling. A girl can have solely one husband however she has five so it rarely matters if she stands bare right here or in cloth."

Pandavas as per Karna's order then took off all their clothes. Dushasana started taking off Draupadi's saree forcibly. That time she remembered the wordings of her guru Vasishtha and requested Lord Krishna for help. She chanted 'Oh Govinda Oh Krishna' and requested help. She hid her face and cried for help whilst calling Lord Krishna repeatedly. Lord Krishna left his throne and appeared there he added many lovely clothes to her cloth. Her saree grew to be so prolonged that Dushasana could not take it off. Dushasana was exhausted at that time and quit.

Bhima out of anger took an oath there that he would tear open Dushasana's chest and drink his blood. Draupadi being humiliated fell on the floor and informed all of them, that she in no way deserved this as the daughter-in-law of the Kuru dynasty.

Karna instructed her, "Pandavas being servants of Kauravas no longer own you anymore. You must remain as a slave to Kauravas and consider all of them as your husbands." Duryodhana moved his clothes from his thighs there and showed to Draupadi to take a seat on it. Fierce Bhima cited to him that he would smash his thighs one day.

Yudhishthira could not say anything. Arjuna asked Kauravas to decide what they wish to do next. That time everyone heard the doomed noises of Vultures and donkeys from the fire sacrificial chamber of Dhritarashtra. Hearing such unlucky sounds Dhritarashtra told his foolish son Duryodhana that his dynasty was about to be ruined by him only. Then he called daughter-in-law Draupadi there and wished to give her a boon.

She requested that "Yudhishthira should be released from slavery. No one would call him a servant. Secondly, Bhima, Arjuna Nakula, and Sahadeva would get their bows and weapons and be released from slavery too." Then Dhritarashtra returned all their gambling money and materials to the Pandavas and suggested they go away for Indraprastha. Shakuni Dushasana Karna and Duryodhana all were upset about losing the cash and substances of Pandavas. Duryodhana out of curiosity and worry informed his father that Beating Arjuna was impossible. "What if Pandavas come back later with all their weapons, defeat us, and own Hastinapura? They have been insulted in front of the whole people. They will surely take revenge for their as well as Draupadi's humiliation. "

Duryodhana gave Dhritarashtra one choice, "you must call them back to Hastinapur and ask for another round of Gambling. If they lose they will have to give up Indraprastha and spend thirteen years in the forest like sages and the last thirteenth year During their exile they have to stay unidentified if they get recognized or found by anybody that year then they will have to remain in the forest for another twelve years."

Gandhari tried to stop her husband Dhritarashtra from doing this however he was so blindly affectionate toward His son Duryodhana that he even agreed to his son although he knew it would spoil his dynasty. He called all the Pandavas back to gamble again. They lost it to Kauravas and left for the forest. Before leaving Bhima reminded Kauravas about his oath. Arjuna confirmed to Karna that he would kill him and warned Duryodhana that their kingdom would be given again to them after twelve years. Sahadeva promised to kill Shakuni for whom the catastrophe happened. Nakula made a vow to kill many of the Kaurava brothers. Then they all left for the forest and stayed there for twelve years in exile and another year disguised.
