Yudhishthira invited Bhishma, Drona, and along with Kauravas to his Rajasuya Yajna. Lord Krishna along with many different kings, and Brahmins were additionally present there. Yudhishthira was suggested by way of Bhishma to worship Lord Krishna first. Shishupala; the son of Chedi King Damaghosha reached there and He could not tolerate Lord Krishna being worshipped via Pandavas first and commenced humiliating Lord Krishna there. Yudhishthira tried to cease him however he did not consider it.
Later Bhishma defined him as the superior of Lord Krishna there in front of anyone where he cited the incarnations of Lord Vishnu, Krishna getting born as the eighth incarnation, rescuing all the people of Mathura from his uncle Kansa by way of killing him, returning the rings of Aditi to her by killing demons like Narakasura, Nisumbha, Sura, Hayagriva, Panchajana, and Also his glory in Dwarika. Along with that Bhisma instructed about a Demon king named Banasura for whom Lord Krishna and Lord Shiva had a massive battle which I will explain herein in this post.
Bana was the king of Sonitpur and the eldest son of King Bali. He used to be fearless and born with a thousand arms. He practised extreme penance for Lord Shiva and thrilled him. Lord Shiva granted him an uncommon boon which as a result made him greater powerful. He defeated many deities and dominated all of them. He had a lovely daughter named Usha. Somehow she came close to Aniruddha; the son of Pradyumna. Banasura came to be aware of Aniruddha staying with his daughter secretly in his palace and captured him forcibly.
